Mel Kitenga
(she/her)

Mel is a dedicated and experienced rope artist, based in London. She has been active in the scene since 2019, presenting for Anatomie Studio London, Organic Space (sadly now closed), the Dyke Collective, and other private venues/groups in the UK. She is a certified teacher and board member of the Shibari Score Notation System, created by Anna Noctuelle.

 

As well as regularly performing and providing experiences for OneNight Parties, Pinky Promise World, and 7sins club; Mel has performed in prestigious venues such as the Tate Modern and the Royal Academy of Arts London.

With an extensive background in circus performance, Mel is a confident professional who relishes challenges and new projects, and is comfortable working in a variety of environments, including on-set productions, performing at private or larger-scale events, ambient tying, and teaching in group or 1-1 sessions.

Mel has worked across multiple productions, bringing her expertise to a range of creative and performance settings. Her commercial shibari work demonstrates her ability to collaborate with diverse teams and artistic visions. To explore her past productions in detail, refer to her Works section.

She is an open, communicative individual who is happy and competent at making adjustments for individuals if needed. This includes but is not restricted to: personal boundaries, physical limits and more.
